When did you start your website and why?

I started it a couple months ago. I decided to sell stuff online because I always enjoyed making bath and body products that my friends and family like so I figured why not offer them to a wider audience

Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc

Well its built using Oscommerce, with a Mysql database and apache/php.

What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?

probably installing the SSL certifacte and of course optimizing it for search engines i.e. page titles, search engine friendly URL's, sitemap etc.

What has been the easist part of operating your website?

working with mediatemple (the hosting company) they are great

What was your biggest mistake?

Initially it was hosted by another company (infinology), they were terrible.

Who maintains your website and why?

Mysefl and My boyfriend. Because hes a nerd

Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?

well my products are now available to the entire country 24 hours a day 7 days a week. So now I make more money.

What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?

I think it is the future for just about every business and it cant be stopped

What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

Its time consuming and a bit of a gamble as to how you want to approach it since nobody knows the algorithm

What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?

definitely helped but I wish spiders crawled more frequently and thoroughly .

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

using apaches mod_rewrite to create page titles

What method has been least successful for promoting your website?

listening to other people that think they know what there talking about.

What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?

More relevant search results with less emphasis on pagerank
