When did you start your website and why?
I started this website in April of 2007. I started bid Or Buy Toys because I feel like there just are not many quality website featuring toys at great prices that also involves way to get them even cheaper by allowing bids.
Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc
The website basically allows the user to search for toys find them and either buy them outright or bid on them. I also have a search page on the website that allows the user to search for any toy they are looking for, which adds that extra option just in case they do not find what they may be looking for.
What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?
I think the most difficult part about running the site is getting exposure out to people. Many people might also think this is some sort of gimmick but its real and the prices are authentic and its been hard to convey this site is not like every other site in the market.
What has been the easist part of operating your website?
The easiest part has been the pure joy of designing the site. I love doing it and I love building the site. I have received many emails from people thanking me for helping them find something they've been searching for in the toy world. That part is always easy and never gets old.
What type of toys can be found at your website?
You can find webkinz, webkinz trading cards actually anything in the world of webkinz, TMX Friends elmo, ernie, cookie monster, PLEO Robot Dinosaur, Nintendo Wii systems and other wii video games and much more.
Who maintains your website and why?
I maintain my website and I do it because I love what I do and I love developing the site and interacting with my customers and friends.
Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?
This is what I want to do with my life and without my website I wouldn't be where I am at right now. Creating this website has put me where I want to be. Overall the site has added a great deal of success to my business.
What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?
I believe e commerce will increase more in more in the near future. e commerce has become more relevant for many items especially when local store tend to be out of stock. People are learning some of the best deals can be found online now days.
What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
SEO is a vital part to the online business. Even with pay per click advertising on the rise SEO is still the most relevant and optimal way to get publicity to your website.
What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?
Search engines are important. Thats how most people find what they want online. Search engines have helped me get my name and my business out there and its growing daily.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Classified ads, PPC advertising have been extremely helpful. SEO will be the driving force of my website eventually but as its still in its youthful stages SEO doesn't play the biggest role yet. So as of now PPC and Classifieds have helped greatly.
What method has been least successful for promoting your website?
Word of mouth. I just don't know a lot of people so word of mouth hasn't helped much at all.
What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?
The spammers disappear and make way for legitimate businesses and people who really care about what they do.
