What inspired you to launch your own website?

I have been selling online for quite some time on ebay and oztion.com.au and I wanted to get more exposure and look more professional

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

Imperial Gifts and Wares is my first website it's just a baby It launched June this year and there is still some work to be done

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I've always had a thing for the name Imperial I'm not sure why and as I sell gifts and wares that's how Imperial Gifts and Wares was born

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Unique products at low prices, prompt delivery and I offer free gift wrapping on all items.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To be able to make a steady income and eventually be one of the biggest online retailers in Australia.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Success hasn't been excellent so far I'm still trying to build up traffic.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I wouldn't change the overall look but I would be paying someone to get me on the first page of google for all my keywords and I would have alot more products available.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

I believe I would be able to keep up with the demand isn't that what friends and family are for:) I would have to seriously consider employing people though

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

I think the big headache is trying to get traffic without having to pay for it which is quite hard.

What has been your biggest challenge?

At first it was trying to load all my products using excell which I couldn't get my head around so now I load products directly through the wensite.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

None as yet.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

Yes it has I thought getting traffic would be alot easier. The day to day of running it is quite simple.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

It's been up for about 3 months I am locked into a agreement with my website developer for 3 years so I have to make it succeed.

Where do you hope your website will be in 5 years?

In 5 years i'm hoping my website will generate a nice steady income and that it will become some what of a household name. Thanks

What is your website address?
