The sign next to the cashier says "maximum 10 items in a bag". I don't think I've ever seen anything close to that many items put in a bag.Yesterday was a record though with 7 items stuffed into a single plastic bag! I was shocked. 6 of the 7 items were of course already packaged in plastic, so there wasn't much reduction in plastic.
I do think that I could have left with half as many plastic bags and been just as happy and secure in my purchases. For example, I don't think adding a hammer to plastic bag full of junk packaged in plastic would dimish my purchases. Though the hammer was put in a plastic bag all by itself.
