Why Not to Use Home-Delivery Grocery StoresBy Brian White at 05/31/07 09:26
During the dot-boom days, there was some site whose name I can't be bothered to remember, that offered exceptional home delivery of groceries. It was so good you had to wonder how they made any money, but low and behold, they didn't make any money, and now I can't even remember who they were.Still, many of the biggest chains offer home delivery, but I don't recommend it. - You can't find new products when you aren't wandering.
- They charge more extra than it's worth.
- Nobody accepts food stamps, if that's relevant to you.
- You don't get to shop for value as easily as you would on the aisle.
- Nobody yet offers online melon squeezing, not even the porno sites.
- You can't pick your best cut of steak.
- No free samples of best new products when you shop online.
- Don't you kind of like going to the store?
There's nothing wrong with shopping for groceries online, or home delivery, but there are big reasons why very few people do it. News Digest Blog Tags: • grocery shopping • online shopping • - Permalink Trackbacks Trackback specific URI for this entry No trackbacks. Comments
