Add a special touch to a room with a magnet wall or chalkboard wall using special paint

By Lexie Elaine at 07/03/07 15:14
I found a great way to add a special touch to my child's room that keeps her entertained for hours. On one of her bedroom walls, I used some magnetic paint. This paint uses a unique grade of very fine iron particles, but acts like any latex paint and leaves a smooth finish. You can either mix the additive with your latex paint or paint over it with your own color using the magnetic paint as a primer.

You can buy neat magnets and magnets with clips for them to hang pictures and what not. You can decorate the border by either using bright colors of contrasting paint stripes or a wood frame screwed to the wall. There are lots of ideas to decorate around it, just use your imagination.

There is also chalkboard finish paint that is available is five different colors as well as a tintable base. Just think of the hours of fun your child will have playing school or just decorating his or her room with their very own huge magnet wall and chalkboard wall!
